QuickCarts

QuickCarts are single-click one-shot players. They are typically used to play jingles, promos, or beds. Simply drag and drop a track from the track list or an audio file from Windows Explorer onto a QuickCart to load it.

QuickCarts can be configured as a panel of rows at the bottom of the main window, or as a separate window (like a cartwall) which can be placed on a separate monitor. Multiple pages can also be configured.

Row of QuickCarts

Row of QuickCarts

QuickCarts are displayed in one or more rows. Drag and drop a track or audio file onto a QuickCart to load it. When loaded, the cart displays the artist and title of the track with the remaining time below.

In Playback mode, click a cart to start playing. Click again to fade out and stop. Click once more to force stop immediately.

When playing, the cart shows a progress bar as the background and a status of PLAYING. A looping cart shows LOOPING and a cart that is finishing its loop shows FINISHING. While a cart is fading out, the cart turns a dark shade of gray and the status FADING is shown.

By default the playback sequence is Play → Fade → Stop. This can be changed per cart from the Edit QuickCart window, for example to immediately stop without fading (Play → Stop), or to cease looping first (Play → Cease loop → Fade → Stop).

If a cart is configured as Solo, playing it will fade out and stop all other playing carts. It will also stop if any other cart starts playing.

Segue arrows allow you to create automatic transitions between QuickCarts. In Edit mode, click the space between two adjacent carts to set a green arrow indicating the segue direction. When the first cart reaches the cue out point it will automatically trigger the next cart in the direction of the arrow. Click the arrow to reverse direction, or click once more to remove the segue.

When a QuickCart plays, other players can be ducked. See Settings to configure this.

Gain slider

The gain slider appears on each loaded cart and allows you to adjust its playback volume independently. This is useful for balancing levels across carts recorded at different volumes without modifying the original audio files.

The gain slider visibility is configured under File > Settings > QuickCarts:

  • When loaded: The gain slider is always visible on loaded carts.
  • When editing: The gain slider is only shown in Edit mode.
  • Never: The gain slider is not displayed. Previously set gains still apply.
