Edit Internet Broadcast Stream
 
The Edit Stream window is where you set up and customise your audio streaming configuration for broadcasting. It allows you to connect PlayIt Live to a streaming server, define the audio quality, and provide metadata about your station, such as its name and genre. You can also configure advanced options like archiving audio to a local file and streaming track titles.

Name

Enter the name of the stream for identification purposes in the stream list.

Import/Export Settings

2. Import/Export Settings
Use this button to import or export the stream settings to or from an XML file. This feature is particularly helpful for station managers who wish to share settings with presenters to avoid errors.

Server details

3. Server details
Enter details as provided by your streaming provider:
 
Server Type: Select the server type (e.g., Icecast, SHOUTcast v1, SHOUTcase v2).
Server Address: Input the server's hostname or IP address
Server Port: Specify the port used by the server (e.g., 8000).
Username: Provide the username for authentication (e.g., source).
Password: Enter the password associated with the username.
Mount: Define the mount point or stream path (e.g., /radio or /live).
SID: Specify the Stream ID if required (used in Shoutcast servers).

Audio details

Enter details as provided by your streaming provider:
 
Format: Choose the audio format (currently MP3)
Quality: Set the quality parameters such as bitrate and sampling rate

Station details

Station Name: Enter the name of your station
Description: Provide a brief description of the station.
Genre: Specify the genre (e.g., "Pop", "Rock").
URL: Enter your station's website URL (e.g., https://www.example.com).
Private Stream: Check this option if you do not want the stream to appear in public directories.

Audio archive

Save Audio to File: Enable this option to archive the broadcast to a file.
File Path: Specify the location and file name where the audio will be saved (e.g., C:\Recordings\output.mp3).
Split File Every: Define the interval at which new files will be created (e.g., every 60 minutes).

Enable title streaming

7. Enable title streaming
Check this box to enable the streaming of track titles to listeners. The Now Playing feature must be configured with an Internet Broadcast target to "Send to all connected Internet Broadcast streams". The Now Playing feature is configured like this by default.

Disabled checkbox

8. Disabled checkbox
Check this box to disable the stream temporarily without deleting its configuration. Disabled streams do not start automatically on Auto Start or when the Start all streams button is clicked.

Save all the settings and close the window.

Close the window without saving changes.
